The Lodge were delighted, through the Lodge’s Freemasonry in the Community initiative, supporting local charities, to be the principle donor for this worthy event giving £500.

The W.M. and Treasurer later attended the dinner and prize giving.

Continuing its intention to support more local charities through its Freemasonry in the Community initiative, Old Rectory Lodge helped the Reading branch of Cancer Research U.K. raise £3000 with their sponsorship of the Charity Golf Day.

Stephen King, event leader, stated. “With the Old Rectory Lodge help, this was a very successful event. 100% of the money raised goes directly to CRUK to support their valuable work. The support from Old Rectory Lodge made this our best year to date and we hope that we can build upon this in the future”.

Reading Fundraising Group for Cancer Research UK (CRUK) expressed their gratitude to The Old Rectory Lodge for the generous donation of £500 and the support received on the Day when 10 teams took part in the (Reading Group) Cancer Research Golf Day at Calcot Park Golf Club Reading.

All the golfers received a promotional ‘Welcome Pack’ which included The Masonic Grand Charity ‘Charitable Giving’ brochure showing the £6,000,000 of funds distributed in 2014, together with a leaflet and contact information about The Caversham Masons.
